Magazine

 Magazine:
Target Audience: Anyone who purchases season tickets for the TD Garden Arena in Boston Massachusetts.
Objective: To get people who bought season tickets to continue to go to the TD Garden for events that happen at the multipurpose venue. The objective is also to inform people of what is going on at the TD Garden.
Positives: The cover has exactly what I wanted it to be, a powerful picture that makes the reader flow toward the bottom right corner to open up the magazine.
-The Table of Contents is informative and the pictures highlight the most important stories.
-The text is unified throughout the entire magazine, and the body text is symmetrical.
-All in all the best project I did.

Negatives: The text is way too big.
-Some of the pictures in the body text look off and somewhat stretched.
-The picture of the hockey rink is stretched and does not look good.
-There could be more use of the space on the TOC.

Newsletter

Newsletter:

Target Audience: The target audience for my news letter is anyone who is a fan of the Barclays Premier League, and would like to receive up to date information on what is happening around the league.
Objective: The object of this newsletter is to inform readers what is happening around the BPL, and to get them to keep investing in this newsletter, through subscription.

Positives: Has an emotional story with some pictures you can relate with on the cover.
-A lot of different content, the font has unity throughout the body text of the piece.

Negatives: Too many different borders used.
-English National Team section is off because the pictures throw the whole section array.
-Lack of real color use throughout.
-Confusing arrangement of pictures.

Poster/Flyer Project

Flyer/Poster:
Target Audience: The target audience is the people who will be donating money to the Salvation Army for the Bed and Bread Club promotional event.
Objective: To get people to visit the website, www.RochesterSA.org, so they will donate money for the Salvation Armys hungry project.

Positives: Pictures are emotional, and show what Salvation Army and the Bed and Bread club do.
-Has information on how to donate and what cards are accepted on the poster, and a QR code on the flyer.
Negatives: There is a lot of space that could've    been utilized.
-On the poster, there should be a clipping path on the                 slice of bread and the photograph, instead of having                     a big, white background.
-The pictures on the flyer are too close to the edge.

Comparison of Brochure 1 and Brochure 2

 Brochure 1:
Target audience: People who want to find an affordable gym to workout at.
Objective: To get more people to sign up for gym memberships and to keep the memberships.
Positives: Cover photo is an interesting photo, especially for those who may feel like this.
-Shows some real life workouts, as well as the outside of the gym.
-Telephone number is in bold, to emphasize the importance.  Negatives: Pictures are too pixelated, and are stretched way too much.
-There is way too much white space.
-On the cover page there is a serious overuse of the Anytime Fitness logo.
-The whole brochure is too bland, there is not enough color, and the pictures are very blocky, with no border or anything to make it stand out.
Brochure 2:
Target Audience: Anyone that would be a Notre Dame fan, or looking   to become a fan of a team.
Objective: To get people to buy Notre Dame tickets and become fans of the team buying stuff of their website.
Positives: There is a good use of school colors. On each page of the      brochure there is the navy blue and gold colors of Notre Dame.
-The pictures I used were high activity pictures.
-There is a lot of information that is useful to getting people involved with the team.
Negatives: Again the pictures didn't have borders that made sense and  had the wrong use of design graphics, or too much color.
-The team schedule logos didn't line up.
- The rivalry section was not put together very well and seemed                  disorganized.

About Grant

Just a little about me:

My name is Grant Weller, and I am currently a student in my senior year at Winona State University. I am pursuing a degree in Mass Communications, with an emphasis in Broadcasting, and I am minoring in Global Studies. I consider myself a sports guru and a history fanatic, which makes a very interesting combination for killing time. All of these pieces were done in my Print and Web Productions class and I hope you enjoy!
